Student Photographer in the rain

Today I tutored a spring woodland photography workshop. I’m pleased to say it went very well despite a couple of hours of heavy rain in the afternoon. Here’s Jackie lying in a bog in the rain shooting flowers under her brolly.

Sexy Spring

It’s been a good day. Even though it never stopped raining. I wandered around woodlands for several hours searching for the most perfect location for the Bluebell workshop that I’m running on Saturday. I found two woods that were in their prime. Here’s one of them. I’m hoping for an overcast slightly wet day to saturate the colours.

Goddess Tree.

I discovered this tree about 18 months ago and have returned on many occasions to capture some of the spirit that surrounds the place. Today, the day after Beltane, I visited soon after daybreak and was well rewarded. There’s something rather special going on here. Can you feel it too?

Admittedly I was more than a touch disheartened when I arrived at this garden early this morning with a long shoot in mind. It was raining. I pressed on and was so happy with the results. Both the colours and myself were well saturated!

Dancing in the breeze the leaves resembled a cacophony of ruddy butterflies fluttering in the branches.

Chair

At the bottom of my garden, tucked away in a corner is my place to sit and read. It’s near the compost heap and next to the hawthorn hedge. Simple but it works for me.

But this piece of garden furniture takes the sitting-and-thinking spot to another level. Arthur and Vivienne who own this garden are very lucky.
